Joint announcement of investment into Indonesia on the 23/09/2021 with Sun Cable, The Government of Indonesia and Australia’s Ambassador to Indonesia

23 September 2021 – A significant milestone was achieved for the Australia-Asia PowerLink as Sun Cable announced a long term partnership with the Indonesian government. This includes a USD2.5 billion investment into Indonesia, knowledge sharing with Indonesian academic institutions and the Indonesian government recommending a route for the subsea cable from Darwin to Singapore. There was in person attendance from Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, The Coordinating Minister of Maritime Affairs and Investment for Indonesia, Her Excellency, Australian Ambassador to Indonesia, Penny Williams, and online attendance from CEO of Sun Cable, David Griffin.
