About the Role

Reporting directly to the Head of Technical, the Wind Technical Specialist will be at the forefront of SunCable's wind generation efforts. You'll lead the development, engineering, and execution of wind assets across this exciting project. Your role will encompass:

  • Project Management: Drive and support the development of wind turbines, met masts, LiDARs, energy storage, and transmission assets.
  • Planning & Scoping: Shape the project’s technical direction, from supplier engagement to delivery planning, while ensuring alignment with our groundbreaking vision.
  • Costing & Forecasting: Manage budgets and timelines, collaborating with our internal experts to ensure seamless cost estimation and planning.
  • Innovation: Be a key driver of innovation, identifying opportunities to revolutionize wind energy technology and delivery.
  • Procurement & Contracting: Work with global suppliers, contractors, and OEMs to bring cutting-edge technology to life.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Play a pivotal role in ensuring seamless collaboration across internal and external teams.
  • Design & Engineering: Develop concepts and strategies that turn vision into reality while keeping commercial performance at the core.

What You’ll Bring

We’re looking for a dynamic, action-oriented leader who can rise to the challenge of delivering large-scale wind generation assets. You’ll have:

  • Proven Experience: You've successfully developed and delivered mid-to-large scale wind projects in Australia.
  • Technical Expertise: A strong grasp of renewable energy systems, particularly in wind generation, and a deep understanding of     project management and engineering processes.
  • Problem Solving Skills: Analytical, with a knack for overcoming complex challenges in a fast-paced environment.
  • Leadership & Collaboration: You excel in building partnerships and leading multidiscipline teams to success.
  • Communication Skills: You're an excellent communicator, adept at preparing and presenting information in clear, compelling ways.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical).
  • Project Management qualifications are a plus.
  • Relevant certifications (Professional Engineer) and Master's degree are desirable.
